Profile and security

Open the profile menu (your initial, top right) and choose Profile & preferences. These are your personal settings. Logins at providers such as Google are managed separately, under Connected accounts.

Change your Name or Email address and select Save details.

If you change your email address, Metribay sends a confirmation link to the new address. Confirm it before you continue using the app.

Enter your Current password, then a New password twice, and select Update password. Use at least 14 characters. A password manager makes this easy.

Select Forgot password on the sign-in page and enter your email address. If it belongs to an account, you’ll get a reset link by email. For privacy, the page says the same thing whether or not the address has an account.

Two-factor authentication asks for a code from an authenticator app each time you sign in, so a stolen password alone isn’t enough. We recommend it for everyone, and especially for workspace owners, who manage provider credentials.

Turn it on:

  1. Select Enable two-factor authentication. You may need to confirm your password first.
  2. Scan the QR code with an authenticator app, such as 1Password, Google Authenticator or the one built into your phone. Or open Enter setup key manually.
  3. Enter the 6-digit Authentication code from the app and select Confirm setup.
  4. Open View recovery codes and store them somewhere safe, such as your password manager.

Recovery codes let you sign in if you lose your phone. Each code works once. Select Generate new recovery codes to replace them all.

Turn it off with Disable two-factor authentication.

Choose English or Deutsch under Language. The change applies straight away to the app and to the emails Metribay sends you, such as password resets. It’s saved with your profile, so it follows you to other devices.

Before you sign in, Metribay uses your browser’s language. You can switch it at the bottom of the sign-in page.

Names and content from your providers, like property names or release notes, are shown as they are and aren’t translated.

These preferences are saved in your browser on this device, and apply straight away.

  • Color theme: Light, Dark, or System to follow your device. The sun icon in the header switches it quickly.
  • Numbers: Full numbers (12,450) or Compact (12.5K). Daily value tables always show exact numbers.
  • Overview spacing: Comfortable or Compact, to fit more projects on the screen.

Because they’re saved per device, you can use compact numbers on your phone and full numbers on your laptop.

Open the profile menu and choose Sign out.

Email [email protected] from the address on your account and ask for it to be deleted. We delete it within 30 days. Before that, you may want to export your configuration. See Security and privacy.
